Well done all, you are all doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

Remember to SELL SELL SELL the show, advertising starts on Star FM, Sun FM and Easymix 1467 on Monday, David and Louise will be on the ABC - 104.3 at 8.45am on Tuesday morning and then on Star and Sun FM - Thursday. Remember to talk to everyone about the show, EVERYONE!!

Cinema - Remember if you are attending Monster's University on Tuesday, to wear you costume and to be at the cinema by 12pm. Have fun!!

Other Reminders:

Ø Your Red Scarf & name tag must be worn to & from the Theatre each day!

Ø All hair must be off your face & braided (prior to arriving at Theatre)

Ø As soon as you arrive, you MUST sign off!

Ø If you are sick, running late, broken down, etc … please telephone Terry Dyke on 0458 402 044 to advise ASAP!

 Theatre opens at 5.30pm & All Cast must be at the Theatre by 6.00pm

 

Rest up for Monday and Tuesday - as Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights are going to be HUGE!!

Well done to new cast who received their red scarf tonight, remember to treasure this as this will be the only scarf you will receive, well at least until you hit 10 years!! Well done again, you have all put in huge effort into this rehearsal season so far! This applies to all our wonderful cast!!

Good luck to our tech crew & costumes who are bumping into theatre in the morning, as with all our departments the tech crew have worked extremely hard on Monday & Thursday nights out at the Birdwoodton Factory to create & enhance your performance on stage!!

Rehearsal starts at 12.30pm and goes through to 5.30pm, this will include a full run through of the show commencing at about 2pm!

A timely reminder to all cast of a clause in the Sunraysia Gang Show agreement in which was - 

Ticket Sales & Publicity:  Gang Show’s success is reliant on ticket sales.  By becoming a part of the Gang, everyone accepts a responsibility to do their part and makes a commitment to sell at least 20 tickets.  Assistance is available from the Gang Show PR and Publicity Department for those who may find they have difficulty in meeting this obligation. 

In selling the Show to the public we also distribute & put up posters, cast are encouraged to assist us by putting these up in high traffic areas & prominent locations.

Patrols are also encouraged to participate in the “Create A Display” competition.

 

 

For every ticket sold, this adds points to your patrol for the TISA Shield & also counts towards your tally to win one of our Ticket Incentive Prizes!!

Other Gang's

While we all prepare and get excited for the annual trip to see Comedy Capers in Adelaide, I thought I would share some dates of other shows in case you wanted to go see them as well.

Albury Gang Show - 14th/15th & 16th of June
Melbourne Gang Show - 21st to 29th of June
Camberwell Showtime - 2nd to 10th of August
South Metro Showtime - 16th to 24th of August

There are also the following shows with dates to be released:
Whitehorse Showtime (August-ish)
Strezlecki Showtime (October)
Adelaide Gang Show (September-ish)

It's always great to get out and see another show - there are no other group that will make you feel as welcome as one that involves Scouts and Guides.

Junior Cast Information

Please see dates for Junior Cast Rehearsals, 1st rehearsal is on Sunday 5th of May at 12.45. All junior cast need to be in full uniform please!

Congratulations to Genevieve P who was joint winner at the Mildura Rural City Council’s inaugural Youth Awards on Saturday, April 13th, 2013 in the category of Create! - Recognises young people who have made a significant contribution to the community through drama, visual arts, technical support, debating, literacy pursuits or music.

The awards were set up to recognise the important role 12 - 25 year olds play in shaping and enriching our community, the Youth Awards were presented at the Setts Bar and Function Centre on Saturday 13 April 2013.

The event coincides with National Youth Week, which celebrates young people across the country.

Deputy Mayor Ali Cupper presented winners of each of the five award categories on Saturday evening.

“12 - 25 year olds make up about 13 per cent of our local population and often their achievements can go unnoticed,” Cr Cupper said.

“But there are so many great examples of dynamic young people who are making a real difference and these awards are one way we can acknowledge and celebrate them.”

Family membership is due

Reminder that Family Memberships are due, please ensure you have paid the amount owing to Personnel this can be paid via EFT, Cash or Cheque, when paying via EFT make sure you put your family name as a reference. If you are having any difficulty in paying your membership, please let David know at rehearsals and alternative arrangements can be made.

What do I do if I am not going to be at Gang Show?

If you are not going to be a rehearsals, you must contact us to let us know as per the Gang Show agreement, if you know you are going to be absent, make sure you tell Personnel beforehand, if not  this can be via:

All Monsters need to be able to move their arms and legs freely to do your actions, as these costumes will be used during the show.

Cathy Cared Walk - Huge thank you to our cast and crew whoparticipated in the walk prior to todays rehearsal. Thank you forsupporting a worthwhile cause, the White Ribbon Foundation.

Yellow Scarves - Congratulations to our brand new cast members that received their yellow scarves today! Only 17 more rehearsals until you receive your RED scarves and be part of the Worldwide Gang Show family!

Reminder to have phones off during rehearsals, if you do need to have your phone on - please leave it with Personnel. Less distraction is more concentration learning movement and lines.

Forms - all forms must be returned ASAP - this include Health Form, Gang Show Agreement & Application form.

Welcome to the first blog of Sunraysia Gang Show, our rehearsals are well under way with our first weekend rehearsal happening as we type!

This year show is looking magical with our theme being

“Magic, Mystery & Fairytales”

For the first time we are going to use the blog as our communication to cast and crew rather than Gang Show Express, please give us your feedback on what is working and what is not!
